JUST A FEW

STEPS.

Above the city towers the landmark of Salzburg: the fortress Hohensalzburg. With over 7,000 square meters built, it is one of the largest European fortifications dating back to the 11th century. You have to visit it!
With its adjectives, Mirabell Palace is perhaps the most magnificent and majestic. In addition to the Palace you will find the Mirabell Garden with its pristine, romantic atmosphere – popular with tourists and locals alike and a popular hotspot for weddings!
The most famous “son of Salzburg” is the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. His birthplace can be found in the Getreidegasse – today it is a museum with interesting insights into the “lifestyle” of the 18th century.

The most historically important street running almost parallel to the Salzach was an important traffic route in Salzburg already for the Romans. Today it is popular with citizens and tourists alike and offers “a lot of traffic with flair” not only during the festival season.

Impressive, baroque and UNESCO World Heritage: the Salzburg Cathedral. 101 meters in length and 81 meters in height take over an impressive part of the old town of Salzburg and is one of the most popular photo opportunities in the city of Mozart. With a baptismal font made of bronze and the impressive main organ, the sacred building also has imposing inner values!

Here you will find a large part of the Salzburg sightseeing quite compact in one place: impressive buildings such as the Old Residence, the New Residence with its carillon and the Salzburg Museum, the Salzburg Cathedral and a number of town houses with a closed facade. Especially popular on hot summer days: the Residenzbrunnen.
The old town of Salzburg is divided by the Salzach – “left” forms the historical core, “right” is newer. Like the Salzburg Cathedral, the entire Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Linzergasse, Getreidegasse, Mirabell and much more: take your time to explore our beautiful city.

In 80 showrooms, everything revolves around the lively and inanimate nature – incredibly interesting for young and old. It is Salzburg’s most popular museum, not just because of the 40 pools with underwater animals. Not only an alternative for bad weather days! On Mondays and Thursdays there are moderated feedings of the aquarium inhabitants!

St. Peter has existed for more than 1.200 years: The Erzabtei in the heart of the old town on Mönchsberg, offers its visitors peace and quiet. In the sometimes hectic old town is the monastery of St. Peter. Surrounded by tall buildings, you can discover the gardens, arcades and ancient history of Salzburg.
